Typically, it was the last day of our French expedition when the weather turned sunny and very, very calm. On the way to Montpellier airport, we stopped off at the beach near Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and found a scattering of egrets and flamingos feeding in the salty lagoons. This Little Egret obligingly went about its business close to the bridge from where we watched.
(Note water droplet bottom left which has fallen from the bird's bill!)
