Another technical difficulty presented by the bright conditions was that I 'stopped down' (I believe that's the correct term; please tell me if it's not) to -2.0 so that the bird didn't get 'bleached' out. That made the screen go very dark, and with the sun shining down on me, I couldn''t actually see what I was digiscoping. So I had to keep zooming out to reposition and check the bird was actually in the frame.
