One of those really great mornings on the washes. The floods west of Lord's Holt were alive with birds, mainly tens of thousands of Lapwings, but also many Golden Plover, Black-tailed Godwits, Wigeon, Teal and other wildfowl. The light was perfect and a Peregrine kept putting all the waders up into the air, where they tried to stay above the falcon and out of its range. Everything was rather unsettled and I tried - for a laugh - to digiscope some Lapwings in flight.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was possible! Nothing very complicated about it - just point the scope into the flock and press the button...
