Ferry
Meadows Country Park, Peterborough. 19.12.2004. Original
blog post.
Again, Ferry Meadows turns up trumps for digiscoping. For some peculiar
reason, ducks are attracted to Lynch Lake (formerly the boating lake).
Quite large numbers are often present on what is a fairly small,
shallow lake, presumably because the feeding there is particularly
good. The light was good and I managed to find somewhere where I wasn't
disturbed by dog-walkers and cyclists. A small group of Gadwall swam
away from me to start with, but they came back again after only a
couple of minutes. I've always liked their intricate plumage.
